Veneers

If you are less than happy with your current smile, a Smile Makover may just be what you are looking for. Smile Makovers allow us to change not only your smile for the better, but more importantly, your life.

DID YOU KNOW?…

74 percent of Americans believe an unattractive smile can hurt your chance for professional success.
When choosing a mate, the smile is one of the top three features chosen to evaluate beauty.
Smiling causes the nervous system to produce a “cerebral morhphine”. This hormone makes you feel better.
Smile Makeovers involve many things, but most notable are the restorations we use for the teeth called Veneers. Veneers are seamless and undetectable when viewed from even inches away. Your new teeth do not stain, and, with good home care and routine dental visits, can last a lifetime. For more information about what veneers are, please review the Question and Answer section below.

Please view the animations on the Smile Makeover page to see examples of how this procedure has changed the lives of so many of our patients already.

WHAT ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS?

Veneers are a thin, semi-translucent laminate permanently bonded to your teeth. While they’re not suitable for every patient, veneers are the most aesthetic alternative for a variety of dental conditions involving the front teeth, including:

  • Diastemas (spaces between teeth)
  • Broken or chipped teeth
  • Unsightly, stained, or washed-out fillings
  • Permanently stained or discolored teeth that can’t be bleached
  • Crooked teeth

There are many benefits and advantages to having porcelain veneers placed on your front teeth:

  • The procedure takes only two appointments
  • A conservative amount of tooth structure is removed during the procedure
  • Veneers are the most biocompatible material you can use next to the gingiva
  • A healthy “natural” look is achieved; in fact, porcelain veneers are the most aesthetic restoration in dentistry.

HOW ARE VENEERS DIFFERENT FROM BONDING OR CROWNS?

Bonding is a resin tooth colored filling material that is used for traditional fillings and some esthetic work. Crowns are a full coverage option when a substantial amount of tooth structure is missing or the tooth has had a root canal.

HOW ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS DONE?

The first appointment we take impressions, photos and discuss goals and desires in great detail. A wax-up of the ideal teeth is fabricated by a world class dental technician. This is the template from which we will fabricate the provisional (temporary) restorations.
At the next appointment, the teeth are prepared for the veneers. At the second appointment the prototype smile is removed, and your final veneers are permanently adhered to the natural teeth.
